About Us

Rooted in Rural Utah

We are teachers, ranchers, coal miners, first responders, nurses, and small business owners who believe rural Utah deserves a real voice in our democracy. We are your neighbors.

Mission

Our Mission

The Utah Democratic Rural Caucus exists to amplify the voices of rural Utahns in the Democratic Party and in the halls of government. We organize communities across all 29 rural counties to ensure that the people who feed, fuel, and sustain this state are never left out of the conversation.

We believe in common-sense solutions — lowering costs for working families, expanding access to healthcare and housing, holding government accountable, and protecting local control. We elect Democrats who are genuinely committed to rural Utah communities.

History

Our History

The Rural Caucus grew out of a simple recognition: rural Utahns were being left behind in both policy debates and political organizing. The Utah Democratic Party recognizes our caucus and shares the values outlined in the party platform.

Since our founding, we have built a network of organizers, volunteers, and elected officials who understand that the challenges facing a rancher in San Juan County or a nurse in Duchesne are just as important as those facing anyone along the Wasatch Front.

Today we are active in every corner of rural Utah — from the Uinta Basin to the Escalante Canyons, from the Bear River Valley to the Four Corners — fighting for the people who call this land home.

What We Stand For

Community First

Every decision we make starts with the question: does this help rural Utah families? We are accountable to our communities, not to donors or party insiders.

Neighbor-to-Neighbor Organizing

Change happens when people talk to each other. We build relationships across county lines, across generations, and across differences to find common ground.

Honest Representation

We tell the truth about the challenges rural Utahns face and fight for honest, transparent government that answers to the people.

Local Solutions

Rural communities know their own needs best. We champion local control and resist one-size-fits-all policies that ignore the realities of life outside the Wasatch Front.

Leadership

Our Elected Caucus Leaders

Our leadership team is made up of rural Utahns from across the state — people with deep roots in their communities and a commitment to making things better.
